Mind + Wellness + Body

Our Story

Trident Healthcare recognizes the importance of good overall health and welfare through partnering, pro-active and productive treatment plans.

History

Trident Healthcare was started after Tamara spent nearly two decades in the healthcare profession. During that time, she has seen how our fast-paced and need for immediate results world we live in, has had a negative impact on healthcare, specifically when it comes to empathy, willingness to listen, and a lack of concern. Trident Healthcare is a community based practice that believes in treating patients as we would members of our own family. Here, you are not a number or an insurance claim, but someone we wish to provide a better quality of life for.

Mission Statement

It is the mission of Trident Healthcare to provide the highest level of care possible through current and tested treatment methods with the development of patient / provider partnerships. All team members of Trident Healthcare will treat each patient with courtesy, compassion, dignity and respect.

Tamara Snider

Hello everyone! I’m Tamara Snider and a Nurse Practitioner with Trident Healthcare. I would like to tell you a little bit about myself and how I like to practice medicine. I began my career in healthcare with Brevard County Fire Rescue as a firefighter-paramedic. I served Brevard County residents in that capacity for nearly 11 years where I developed a genuine passion for treating the infirm. My compassion and empathy for those in need of medical attention led me to nursing school, which provided me the opportunity of having more of an impact in their health and welfare. As a registered nurse, I worked at several hospitals within the county for nearly 5 years. While working as a nurse, I furthered my education and ability to serve by obtaining a Master’s of Nursing degree and becoming a nurse practitioner. I had a wonderful opportunity to work in a local family practice for 4 years where I developed many relationships and partnerships with those I treated. Yes, I did say partnerships. One of the core values and pillars of my treatment plans are having partnerships with patients in the development, implementation and follow-up of their care. I do not subscribe to the philosophy of carousel healthcare where patient treatment is designed to add unnecessary visits, tests, or a list of medications. A partnership of medical care is a more successful healthcare goal that gives patients say-so and buy-in for their overall health and wellness.

Samantha Knox

My name is Samantha Knox and I am a member of the Trident Healthcare family. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about who I am and how I plan on helping you achieve happy health! Proudly, I am a Brevard County, Florida native. Specifically, I was born and raised in Melbourne not too far from this office. I decided to attend nursing school at Eastern Florida State College when I felt the need to do something productive and positive with my life. I worked as a nurse in the emergency room of several local hospitals, as well as in other hospitals as a traveling nurse. Being an emergency care nurse does not allow very much one-on-one interaction with admitted patients therefore, I was never able to see the fruits of my treatment labors. In addition, my schedule was unpredictable and contrary to my desire in starting a family and being present in their lives. Having both the desire of patient care and growing a happy and healthy family, I decided to further my education and become a nurse practitioner. I attended and graduated with my Master’s degree of nursing from the University of Southern Indiana becoming an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN). This achievement has allowed me to practice family medicine and have more time to spend with my family. Developing healthcare plans through patient interaction then seeing progress in that patient’s health is a practicing principal of mine and nothing but rewarding. Primary healthcare is my forever career with the hopes of adding pediatric healthcare sometime in the future.
